We have been celebrating our team this week . It's not often that the whole crew front and back of house are so awesome as this season's crew.
Each and every start of season (May / June) we get to choose from an amazingly diverse supply of eager backpackers who are all super keen to find work in hospitality. This works well for us as our business has just come through our 'wet season', where visitor numbers are low due to the high humidity and rainfall - which is also a wonderful season, to be honest, as everything is lush, and you can usually find a park in Macrossan Street!
It also works well for the backpackers who can apply for a visa extension of a year if they complete 88 days of paid employment in a remote / rural community and thankfully Port Douglas ticks this box.
On Monday, Kings Birthday Holiday, we were able to celebrate and thank our amazing staff before many of them move off and explore more of Australia and the world ( lucky things).
So thankyou and farewell to Andriy, Marine, Lydia, Mae, Pablo & JP. We have loved getting to know you and thank you again for your wonderful work at Seabean. We will miss you.
